Tamara Zupi (Interview English version)

My name is Tamara, you all know me as ‘paperwork Tamara,  registry, procedures ect…

It’s been years since I’ve gotten involved in the dog world. My dream was to be a Veterinarian. However, due to a few points in my grades I couldn’t make that dream come true. So, I began to work as a Veterinarian Technician Assistant. I met many different dogs at that office.  Just as many breeds as people. The breed I liked the most was the American Stafforshire Terrier. It was during a time before the internet so I looked for information about the breed in books, magazines, and articles.

In 2001 I got my first American Staffodhisre Terrier. That was when I really began to get involved with the professional dog world. In 2009 I saw an American Bully for the first time. I organized a few shows along with the breeders at ‘show party’ (2010-2011) and the first official show with ABKC(2011) in Spain. We had Dave Wilson, president of ABKC, and his wife Deanne Smith as guests and Ron Ramos as a judge.

How did you begin to manage the registry?

I started with doing the registries of my American Staffordhire Terrier in L.O.E. that has nothing to do with the American Bully Registry. It was when I got my first American Bully that I realized there was necessity. In that area there were hardly any Bullies, so there was no one to whom I could ask questions. The first ones they did them for me but the following ones I thought, it can’t be that hard and so I began to do them myself. In the first official show, that I mentioned before, Deanne and I registered all of the participants. I continue to do them on my own for my clients and everyone that asks me for help. I took a year to relax and to disconnect from the dog world. But you all looked to me to help resolve those ‘mission’s impossible’. I started to take down pedigrees and litters, including a few that never arrived. And that is how Tamara Zupi was born, taking down registries that they thought were
lost.

Today I work with the UKC, ABKC, IBKC, BBCR, EBKC, USBR,ABR,IBR, and other registries. It is more than just informing clients about the rules and regulations of each registry but also the show sign ups, the point system for the championships all things related to professional pedigree participation. I also wok with the representatives of the registries that can facilitate the pedigrees and present my clients at shows.

I have so many anecdotes, a good memories. Once in a while people talk about bullygame as if the world was ugly but in my experience I have met and continue to meet marvelous people.

Thank you all for this strong and silent work. Here is the result: 19 years later I am proud to say that the work that I have done throughout Spain, and half the world including California, Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, United Kingdom, Portugal, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Thailand, Romania, China and the list goes on.
